Update on the pantry. 11 Days in.
This pantry cleaning and not going to the grocery store has been interesting. It is day 11 and it is already starting to create interesting meals. I have made spaghetti again and finished up that pasta. I have finished some juices as well as milk. I made another batch of Russian tea which used up some of those supplies and has been nice on these cold nights.
I did finish eating all the Banana muffins and took the top layers of the layered dip that I made for the Super Bowl and put that on the bottom of our Tacos for Fish tacos. They were yummy.
I then had the guacamole layer as a side and the other bean and corn dip as additional topping for our salads. I finished off one dressing bottle and I hope to finish off another this week to clean those out.
For Valentine's I made Heart Shaped Red Velvet Brownies which are really cute and tasty to boot. Check out the recipe here.
They helped use some more of my gluten free flour which makes them thick and awesomely chewy. The recipe is here and I just substituted the regular flour with the gluten free. Also I made a double batch so I could give out to my lifegroup tonight. I also finished all of my red food coloring so they are not as red as the recipe called for but I used what I had.
Used a cookie cutter and cut out hearts! I was happy with the result.
Tomorrow night is meatloaf, potatoes and greenbeans. Truly southern meal. I might make some soda biscuits but we will see how much time I have after work. I am thawing out deer burger and going to make it with that and hopefully get that started in the crockpot tomorrow at lunch.
Though I will be one egg short I will add just a little more ketchup. It might not bind as tight it still should work well. I don't have the two pounds of burger it calls for it is about 1.5 pounds so it should work out.
The fridge is a little clearer as in the freezer but that just allowed for the roommate to actually put things in there... sorry Ash. (I am a freezer hog).
Here is to this coming week and seeing how the meals start becoming more and more funny and random. I do like my bank account by not going to the grocery store or shopping. Not using any money but getting my car serviced yesterday, I'll take it.
Over and out.
