Table Project

Here is the update on my table redo. I bought this table probably 15 years ago at a church yard sale from my aunt. I loved the way it looked and it was just a neat focal piece. It always had this black area on the top which I never tried to get it off but it just looked funky.

While I was working on multiple projects the other day I decided to get it out also. I used some really coarse sand paper and it took off the black and then I leveled it a bit with the sandpaper. After that I took some smoother sandpaper and sanded the legs (they had some dark wear) and the top to make it a little more smooth.

Then I began covering it with coats of Polyurethane. This was a process. Because the wood was so old it soaked up each layer of polyurethane. After 3-4 coats it finally started glistening. It probably could use one more coat but I liked the way it looked. It is much darker and richer than it was before. I am very excited with how it turned out and look forward to more projects like these.

This is fun!
Projects are fun when we work on them together.
