Keep pressing on
Have you ever been in a situation that you just could not help?
A time when despite your best efforts everything did not work out how you
wanted it do. I have been in more times and situations like this than I really
want to count or can honestly remember. Some that had big impact and some that
only I noticed. Last night I ever forgot my keys and left them at my parent’s
house. Andrew drove so I did not even think I took them let alone took them
inside but I did both.
Life happens. It happens to all of us. How we respond to
life happening is another story. There are times where I want to be ignored and
sit in a corner and just cry, other times when Andrew pulls me out of my shell
and says get over it or when mom or dad says, “it is what it is”, no matter how
much they hate that saying. I can only do so much after something is completed
and finished.

So here this is to my colleagues, to my friends from my
doctoral program, life group and to others who are on this journey called life
and we are stuck in a different but equal rut. I salute you. I salute your
journey. Your trail to get here and your ability to stand even stand in a rut
and to be ok with learning how to climb out on our own and with the help of
others. Maybe just maybe you realize someone else is sharing your rut with you.
How can you be encouragement to one another and help each other when we slip
and fall? Two are better than one, and three better than two. It does not have
to be a gigantic expressing of support or push but it can be as gentle as the
wind reminds me that I am loved and there is something bigger out there. May
you be the wind for someone else.
