Stress Relief
This morning is a semi quiet morning, which is rare among the chaos that has been occurring all around recently. Some of the crazy has been self inflicted, due to the "can't say no syndrome" other has just been because of how life is in the summer and how we deal with certain stressors that make some crazy and others not.
So I am semi switching this blog over to helpful tips for life, which is what it was intended to be in the first place but what got semi side tracked.
Today's topic is stress relief.
Do you have stress?
I know I do.
It can come in all forms:
Friends
Family
Food
Activities
Summer
Accidents
Financial Burdens
Relationships
All of these have caused, will cause or are causing stress in my life.
Now stress is not necessarily a bad thing, but how you deal with it determines how it impacts you and your daily life.
Ways in which I deal with stress:
Blare Music (Loud and Proud), and sing obnoxiously
Listen to Jazz, old Gospel, or Jack Johnson/ Shawn McDonald and just chill.
Go for a Run.
Read a good (not for work or school) book
Hang out with friends (you know the ones who allow you to not work but just be you... yea those)
Call someone I have not talked to in a long time.
Take a nap (My friends motto, "When in doubt nap it out" I take that motto seriously many days)
Do something for someone else
If these don't work take more extreme measures:
No social Media
No email, for that matter no electronics
Go on a day vacation (even if it is at your house, hide away)
Clean something (I know weird but seeing something clean helps you feel like you have been really productive, even when you haven't)
Get a massage
Go to the chiropractor
Get a manicure and pedicure (Make sure you use the massage chair while you are there)
Go eat out with a friend you really want to see
Rent a Redbox, somedays that 1.20 worth of Joy is all it takes to help you unwind
