12 Verses on Leadership - Propel Women
I love Propel Women. During their short time of existence they have been such an encouragement to me, my ministry, my faith, and honestly my personal growth.
If you are like me there are so many opportunities around us that we have the possibility to lead. There are times when we have to step back and realize that not every situation we are placed in is where we are supposed to lead. I am a huge fan of leadership and love to study its trends and practical ways to apply skill sets to my life however, in the midst of all that I often forget what it is to lead.
There are times when leading is literally following, sitting back and watching the course be marked by someone else. It is during these times that our Alpha nature wants to fix, correct, instruct, yet in these moments God is showing us that we each have a leadership potential for something. If we are not allowed by other leaders to foster this potential we may never realize it.
Scripture reminds us that we should want to treat others how we want to be treated and sometimes as leaders, we focus so much on the goal at hand that we miss the hand that is holding the goal. We miss the person, the relationship, the focus that is shown when we take those moments to be still, to be silent and to listen and invest in one another. Only then are we showing leadership.
As I still struggle with this consistent catch 22 of leading, listening, and learning, I pray that we can be reminded that we don't have to be the savior of the world, we can't be, but we can sure point to the one who is.
May all that we lead, point to him, his vision and his word, in our lives, our word, our actions, and our minds.
Lead well by lending hands to others.
