To Paris with Love

Ten years ago I was in this beautiful city. It was a city that sparkled with hopes and dreams. It yearned for creation and innovation and it inspired love and peace. The city dazzled as it lit up the night sky with its picturesque views, its amazing cuisine and its unique culture.

Eight years ago I met one of my best friends who was from Paris. I learned more about the culture more about the pursuit for Christ in the country and more about a passion to love the lost. I would soon meet their parents who also lived in Paris and one even pastored a church in France. These memories flashed back to me last night and today as I sit here reflecting.

Three years ago I had a best friend move to Paris for a stent with their job. The skype phone calls of them walking by the Louve at night home from work or seeing the Eiffel Tower from their hotel room inspired imagination and inspiration as sometimes we get bogged down with the mundane that we think surrounds us.

Yesterday I not only had two friends in Paris on their honeymoon but two more flying there and other family members from my best friend that I am still checking in on.

Paris, you are still the City of Love.
Paris, you still dazzle.
Paris, you are still a city of hope.
Paris, God is with you!

John 10:10-18
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. 13 He flees because he is a hired hand andcares nothing for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.17 For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father.”

Sincerely,
With love to Paris.
