Andrew' s view on "Purging".

The FIRST post by Andrew

My first blog post and I feel so excited haha movie reference. As you all know Elizabeth and I are commencing the act of "purging" which is to rid oneself of whatever is undesirable or to declutter.......etc and it is going well. I have a trash bag and duffle bag that is saying goodbye to my closet and drawers which can be seen on Instagram. This act of purging is not easy for me because I like to use the excuse of well I have it for a reason which will arise later or is cool to hang on to, needless to say it is much needed and many of the items are small and also t-shirts. I do like the way purging makes you think whether is it something I want to hold on for nosologic reasons or is it practical and will benefit me down the road for life adventures along with other purposes. Life is not made up of acquiring certain things and just for the sake of saying it is mine, it's a deeper meaning asking how did I get it, what did I do to achieve, who do I thank for pushing me toward's this (God all day every day first and foremost), what did I learn through this process and questions to the same nature. All in all, I was looking forward this challenge and more to come. This year one reason for the decision is I'm coming into a big family.

Part of my character has always been liking to help people and see them prosper to make them feel happier. Since my brother is tall and bigger than me usually my items go to my cousins to see if they would like to enjoy it for a while longer and that brings out another part of me, sharing. If I can bring happiness to somebody else other than me it is an awesome feeling. I look to repurpose my item to them because family is important to have their backs and/or through organizations reaching out to communities and the world. It also feels good to see that pile laying there and can make for a good or great day. In this world it is about people and looking after all our brothers and sisters with the love and caring that God bestows on all of us. This helps me be more thankful for the gifts I have with humble satisfaction. God is good all the time and all the time God good.

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God."  2 Corinthians 1:3-4
