Summer Garden in Progress
So we have begun our summer garden. I am not sure to what
extent we will make the garden happen this year but I am going to try harder
than I did last year. Last year with me traveling and my cousin working a bunch
and Andrew never sure of his work schedule our garden definitely did not get
the first attention.
I have planted the seeds and went in this morning to check
on them and they have already sprouted. I am excited to see things grow and
hopefully come together. Andrew and I are working towards becoming more simple.
Through the things that we eat, the things we grow and make. We are trying to
use resources wisely and be productive at the same time. Reducing our footprint
on the world around us and making healthier choices along the way.
This week that has not been easy. Andrew has started a new
job a few weeks ago!!! Which has thrown schedules, eating and just life
preparation off course and by the time I get home my motivation level to get
things accomplished around the house is slim to none and I sink in my couch and
don’t get up.
Here is to getting better at the little things.
With our garden I was able to plant the seeds last weekend.
Things from Beans, to Peppers, Lettuce, Jalapenos, Squash and some hopeful
Zucchini. The Squash and Zucchini seeds look the same and they had gotten mixed
in the bottom of the seed box so we will see what we have. Only time will tell.
I hope to put the greenhouse together and put the seeds in there after the cold
snap that happens this weekend.
The ultimate goal is to plant the garden at my cousin’s
house and then be able to get enough produce that I can, can tomato sauce,
pasta sauce, and salsa. Those I use often and consistently.
They are way taller than this but need some sun. So we are working on getting them sun to make them hardy not frail.
