May the 4th be with you!

Today is all about May the 4th be with you. There are so many different meme's that make this saying iconic. It is a great way to get a chuckle around the office but if we stop for a minute and truly think about it the force is always with us. We always the ability to create, make and influence change with what we say and do and also how we respond to others. I did not respond well to a situation yesterday and I did not want to own up to this problem that I dealt with. Though no one else really probably paid attention I respond with a quip and not with sincerity. It landed me in a place where if I didn't apologize their lives would go on and so would mine and to be honest most would not note there was any difference to be made in the first place. However, I knew in my soul that it was not who I want to be or want to be known for. This pushed me to send an email saying sorry for my brass-ness and move along. Before I felt like the email was sent into cyberspace I had a call from that person saying they did not know what I was talking about so no harm no foul.

Now some would say this would give them warrant not to apologize in the future because they did not notice it why waste your time but your request for that forgiveness reflect more on your soul status than often it does on other people. In this situation others would have been fine without bringing it up. However it would have eaten me. Andrew stated it best, "It is best to clean a wound then to let it get infected".

This is so true so many times I want things to heal to move on to continue without taking the time it takes to clean the wound and sometimes the cleaning is the hardest part. Sometimes cleaning a wound burns, stings and just makes you cringe. Yet it is through this process that the wound is prepped and ready to heal. Without it you hurt from the inside out. So the force is always within you, not in some weird way but in the ability you have to make your own choices and be a force for good, a force for change, and a force for hope. I pray you are that force.
