Bridesmaid Earrings
I decided I wanted to make the bridesmaid earrings. You know the tradition the bride is supposed to give the bridesmaid their jewelry that they are supposed to wear the day of the wedding, typically given the night of the rehearsal dinner. So I started a hunt for what I wanted to do. Though the wedding is traditional it is a blending of two styles because I like the different aspect of the tradition. I didn’t want pearls and fancy heels I wanted classic but comfy is more my style. If I could live in a nautically inspired life somewhere near some type of water all my life and my family were nearby that would be a dream.
I tried to begin thinking of the colors and something the girls would actually wear again. You know me if I can DIY it then that would be even better. So I scoured the internet for different things. The tree of life means a bunch to me and my family. When my grandmother passed away my aunt on the other side gave mom and I a tree of life necklace that we still have. Reminding us out roots are still the same and family is together. Where we got married symbolized this same symbol and there were different reminders of this all around me throughout our day.
Amazon had a great deal on these amazing charms. They did not look too big and I was willing to give them a try. I bought them and they came in just the right size now I needed to decide what I wanted to do with them. I went to Michaels and found some amazing blue beads that paired with the bridesmaid dresses and the hooks and pins to make the earrings. I came home and started working. It was great to see them come together. I initially was going to do the bead separate from the charm hanging in front or behind/below the charm but after closer look and recommendations above it went. They are super cute light and not ultra gold which was the look I was going for. I am super excited about them.
You will need:
· Straight hooks
· Charm
· Time and patience
They looked so pretty with the dresses, too. Good going!
