Advent Day 22
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. By Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
Where has the time gone? It is Christmas eve and we await tomorrow. We look forward to what is to come and we reflect on the year that we had. It is a great time to listen to where God has taken us over the course of the year but also to hope for where He will take us in the future year. I love that Jesus was born and in a manger and that shepherds spread the news. My favorite portion of all this scripture has always been when Mary took time away from all the things going on around her but to treasure, to ponder, to reflect, and to be. Being, just be-ing is so hard in this instantaneous culture. There are so many different things that fight for our attention. Yet, she pushed all of this aside and was able to just for a few moments capture this precious moment in time. I pray that you take time this season maybe just for a brief moment tomorrow to look around and breathe and soak all of it in. Are the moments going to be perfect? No. It will however, provide you with a new prospective for learning and leading into the new year in a way that brings hope, joy, and peace to a crazy, fast paced and broken world.
May your Christmas be merry and bright and may you know the real reason of the season.
Jesus came to earth to be born human to live a perfect sinless and human life to ultimately die a terrible tragic death to prove to the world that death could and would be conquered three days later by a wonderful, powerful caring God that you have full and complete access too if you want a relationship with him.
We love you and wish you the merriest and happiest this holiday season.
Love The Kilby's.
