Advent Day 7

Day 7
1st Corinthians 3:9
For we are co-workers in God's service; you are God's field, God's building.

John 15:1
I am the true vine, and My Father is the keeper of the vineyard.

I am so thankful there are farmers. I love the joy of seeing things grow but my patience level is not high and therefore growing plants that need some special care is not my priority. Other people have a much better crop each year than I do but somehow I manage to get one or two peppers and a few tomatoes each year. This is a beautiful process to see something grow. I have 3 plants I have had for a few years and each year they almost die (yes I do bring them inside) but the watering thing I am not the greatest. Each year, however, it is amazing to see them come back to life in the spring when I set them back outside. This regeneration is often like our spiritual walks. There are times when we grow and we flourish provided warmth light and beauty to others and the world around us. But too be honest there are times when we don’t when our faith shrinks we are not be watered by the word and we just attempt to exist. Thankin God for the farmers for those people that pull us back outside to whatever element we need, church, Bible study, friendship and support, or pulling us away from the heat of inside in the winter giving us water, life and hope for tomorrow. Thank you Jesus for being the keeper of the vineyard but allowing us to work the fields not only in our own lives but to cultivate life and hope in others as well.
