Beginning to change the tides
Alright it has been a week since I posted and it is not because I didn't want to! This week we were in a remote village outside of Altun Ha (mayan ruins) and we were in a town called Maskall this was a very small town and to tell you how small we were blessed by a recently constructed community center that was finished in 2011 but we had no water pressure and took showers by filling up buckets. We painted the church there and had a Vacation Bible School. Which was nat to see the children really from a 20 mile radius come in to the vbs. yet again they did the colors and I think that has been the most successful way of crossing the cultural barriers by using this way of sharing salvation.
In one week from today I will be home and I am so excited to be coming back but the relationships that I have formed and the brothers and sisters I have made here are priceless and I will be back to visit them. Yesterday the first of our interns went back to the US because she was in a wedding and that has already begun the process of the changing of the tide. Thoughts of school family and just seeing my friends pets and vacation are already running through my head. However I know that this experience has shaped me for the future to do something. This experience is not one I can put into a few short words or even tell one story that highlights the summer that is just not how I foresee it working it will be a continous reflection of how God was and is faithful with me and with groups and how we continuously are in need of him and his reign.
So as I pick up my last group tomorrow from Canada I am expectant yet again to see how God is going to reveal himself. I am excited about the things to come.
Thank you thank you thank you for all the prayer warriors at home who have literally made this summer a breeze as to what it could have been. Keep the prayers coming. As there is a hurricane that is threatening the coast please pray that it's damage will be minimal and that those can all see how mighty our God is and how his grace continuously abounds. That is all for now. Back in a remote village this coming week but should have more access to Internet to keep updates with this and the storm. Love to all!
You are each amazing!
