Commit
Alright so we rang in the New Year last night with bells and whistles and now we are left to this morning. The dawn of the new year, the dawn of the new day and yet so many things still remain the same from last year.
After much debate and thought my word for the year is:
COMMIT
May I commit to what God is doing in my life and stay focused on his purpose and plan.
May I commit to loving, living, learning and exploring more.
May I commit to being better, strong, more reliant on Him than on my purpose and plan.
Below are the two passages of scripture that I have chosen to go with this word for the year. I included the following verses after the "commit" part as a reminder that God is not through with us after we commit to him but that his work is just beginning.
May you have a happy, safe, healthy and prosperous, New Year.
Proverbs 16:3-4
Commit to the Lord whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans.
The Lord works out everything to its proper end—
even the wicked for a day of disaster.
Psalm 37:5-7
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
your vindication like the noonday sun.
Be still before the Lord
and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
