Even in the dreary, God is light.

James 5:19-20 MSG

"My dear friends, if you know people who have wandered off from God’s truth, don’t write them off. Go after them. Get them back and you will have rescued precious lives from destruction and prevented an epidemic of wandering away from God."

This morning reading came across this verse. There are so many times where I have wanted to write off those that have wandered and if I am truthful times which I know others have wanted to write me off when I strayed.

This concept of preventing an epidemic is a vast concept that I can't understand. Can you imagine if someone could personally prevent the spread of aids, Ebola or some other medical travesty. The noble peace prize would be theirs no questions asked. We get the opportunity to prevent someone from an eternity of damnation to an eternity in light. That is HUGE. I along with so many others forget the call that is placed on our lives to bring people into the light and that this is a epidemic that is vastly spreading.

Let us not forget we have a purpose. God has a plan and we have a place in this world. To Go, Be and Do for Christ.

Happy Monday. May the dreary this day is be a reminder that we have true light. May it shine in the darkest places. To a God who is willing and able to do immeasurably more than we can ever ask or imagine.
