Middle of my little mess.
What a day this has started out to be. The morning started off with a bang as I set an alarm off by not entering the correct code, which called the cops and then had to explain to them what happened. Then after what I thought was enough of a rough morning, the trash I was switching containers spilled all over the floor and all I could do was laugh and shake my head.
As I picked up the trash I was just surrounded by the joy that God provides in the middle of our little messes.
This is the stuff that can create hassle in our lives. We can be forced to re-access the little things. The things that make us cringe, realize our humanity, deficiency or all of the above. Yet in the midst of it all God is there to provide that glimmer of hope, that chuckle that we can't do it all, and that reminder that we need him whenever life happens not just in the good or the bad times.
It is amazing to see how many times my mind will just fly from one thing to the next not giving time or consideration to the little things that make a difference or could create someone's day better. The times that I do sit still and think about ways in which God revealed himself to me during the day are often the most rewarding.
I am one whose schedule is ever changing and always in a constant state of change. With this comes many times where I go on hyper drive and do not stay centered where I need to be. Certain friends and family bring me back to reality but I allow myself to get quickly carried away over and over again.
I have the joy of having an amazing network of people who keep me challenged and motivated to dream bigger dreams and reach bigger goals. I can stress myself out with the goal driven mentality to miss the here and now joys that God brings into my life.
So as I pause and recollect my thoughts from the morning, that was to say the least chaotic. I am reminded that God is good all the time and there is a still small voice that is always there to say listen to me, walk with me, and I (not the world or anyone else) will guide and direct your ways and your path.
May your Saturday be bright and the joy in your life be full of wonder and splendor. Look for the little things!!!
