In it to End it!

Woke up beyond early this morning for no real apparent reason. However trying to fall back asleep this was brought to my mind and I can't shake it.

Today all across social media you will see a red x. It may be on people's hands or hats or found in different ways but it will be there. Soon after I fully awake it will be on my hand as well.

This x is a symbol. Just like a stop sign, a red light, or any other symbol it reflects something else. Many times it reflects an action that should be taken. This is exactly why this X is around.

Through the Passion Conferences I was first introduced to the END IT MOVEMENT. The horror that over 27 million people are still in some form of slavery all around the world astounds and sickens and flat out annoys me. Why do we let such an issue proliferate? I am including myself in the "we" because I know that I could do more to stop and educate others on this issue.

End it movement is a way for us to shine light on what is going on around us and help stop the forms of slavery that we see and we are impacted by without knowing it. This is not just about human trafficking, though this is a huge issue that needs to be addressed more. It is about bonded labor forced labor and those who are voiceless needing a voice.

I am glad to know many organizations locally here in North Carolina that are working towards a brighter future by being lights in the Human Trafficking industry. People like Justice Ministries and On Eagles Wings and many more are bringing men and women hope in a hopeless situation. There is still more work that needs to be done.

Even though End It Movement is a coalition of organization that have joined together to fight for Freedom, it is not enough. We need to do our part. Know the numbers and the resources that are in your area that you can call if you see possible trafficking occurring. Make yourself aware of the clothes that you buy and the food you eat if they were produced and created without forced labor. We all could use a little more awareness and a little less pawning it off on others to wait for someone else to make a change. The change is left with us to make. Are we making it?
