Overwhelmed
Have you ever felt overwhelmed?
It could be good things, bad things, life full of things. We all have these points where there are times where we want to be a hobbit return to our hovel and just hide. We want to hide not because we want to avoid the people that we love or that our life stinks because many times we just want to slow life down. We want to breathe and regroup and cling to what and who we know and love.
This is not a bad thing honestly it is just a reality. I have been reading over the passage where Jesus is taken to the cross. The agony that was in the passage and the pain that all culminated in the cross and the crucifixion. Jesus at this point could easily have been overwhelmed, called it quits and change the path of history. He knew though He had a purpose. His purpose was redemption for all of humanity a purpose that unless we already know Him we cannot begin to understand, even if we do follow Him it is still hard some time to trust and release things into God's plan, hands, and provision.
So what do we do when we feel overwhelmed? To be honest sometimes I am not sure, I am just like you and figure it out case by case. Pray it up, ask, seek, listen, obey. I do know that Jesus is with me in the overwhelming moments of joy, pain, stress, or anything and that in itself is comforting. I know that God created us to be in relationships with other people. So be real with others share the heavy load and be willing to just be ok with not being "normal" for a portion of your day week. Take time to be silent or to chill if you need it.
Be encouraged Jesus loves us. There is so much love especially to be reminded of at Easter that Jesus overcame the overwhelmed. Jesus covered the mundane. Jesus released the oppressed, hears the captives and loves the lost.
Be encouraged. Be redeemed. Be renewed.
Be Joyful this Easter.
