Travel Perspective.

Traveling always makes you think about things and put things into perspective. While on my last journey the flights are always the normal first obstacle. This was no different even in the booking of the flights God found time to provide humor but always to remind me of our perspective and our position with him.

While walking all around this great city it was amazing to see how God brings so many different people from all around the world to work for his purpose and his plan. Just sit at the tube station for just a second and you will be passed by every walk of life and more languages than you can recognize.

This is the beauty of the gospel that you can see how God uses people of all different backgrounds to make a difference in his gospel. One thing though to see though is the depravity that is apparent on an entirely different scale than in a  third world country. This is because they are use to the churches being there but not doing anything. Or the churches doing so many things but people are just to busy to notice.

This almost makes it more difficult to reach people in this context because they think that it is not reasonable or even relevant and it is a thing from the past that has no impact on their present or their future. The time restraints that they have due to their world mindset, their work schedule or just their group of peers does not lend them to making time for ministry or what it can offer. There are times when you see others rushing to get to somewhere only to be waiting for something else.

What a blessing it would be if their could be effective and efficient ministry during those hurry up and wait times. This would be amazing but are they really open their heart that is to hear what is being told or shown to them. This post Christian context is one of a totally different nature than what I am used to working with. Their reception to what is out there is very minimal. They are always being shoved some paper or magazine or being asked for money and when you do stop and take the time to talk to those that are on the street trying to raise funds or awareness they are people too.

They have a yearning to be heard and to be loved and to be respected and the faces turn from a grim miss to a smile. One of respect and of hope and joy. It is in these moments that we see a glimmer of hope from jesus. It is in these moments also that we find people being Jesus to us without even knowing it . It is amazing to see how just like God does everywhere he puts in place people who meet our needs right when we need them. It is during this time that we are brought away closer to the people who display Christ's characteristics and how he uses everyone in every situation to bring him glory. These times I smile and remember I am not in this alone and I never will be but I have the amazing privilege to get to play a part in his wonderful plan. It is a pure joy.

Many thoughts and prayers and until next time.
