Nine Days remain.

Nine days till Christmas.

NINE DAYS

Where has 2016 gone?

Thinking back what a year. Last New Year's I was on a flight internationally. This New Year's we are engaged.

Last new year I wasn't in school, This New Year I just completed my first semester of Doctorate school.

Things, life, and people, have come and gone this year. Those we celebrate, those we remember, those we cherish and some things that we are glad has left as new things have filled its place.

What are Andrew and I supposed to do with the last nine days before Christmas and 15 days before the new year. We do what we have done all year. We breath, we enjoy and we take time for the things that matter.

More than ever this year I have realized it is the small conversations that make a difference in the memories. The few extra minutes you give someone when you "should" be off doing something else. Take time for the little things. The normal traditions which I have usually held at Christmas have not really happened this year. Friends and family have supported me in so many different ways. My over-committed semester has now drawn to a close with only a few melt downs and not too worse for the wear. Christmas I am not looking forward to presents though they will be great. I am looking for enjoying apple cider with the ones I love. Sitting by the fire, talking about life, dreaming and getting lost in imagination. I am looking for to laughing till there are tears, to fall asleep staring at the Christmas tree. To imagine what it would look like for a white Christmas and enjoy making new traditions.

The planning is finished the presents are somewhat under the tree but I commit to not being stressed about it and just enjoying the Hallmark movies and the season for what it is. We are thankful to have people like you who surround us with love and show us the examples we are supposed to be and we truly wish you a happy wonderful and Merry Christmas and amazing New Year.

We may not write more this year because of family time but we can't wait till 2017. See you on the flip side.
