File Finishing (the latest project)
I just found my new project. I was not expecting it but some
of the best projects you do not expect so here goes nothing. I just acquired an
awesome 5 draw file cabinet. Now most would say ugh boring. But it can be turned
into super cute if you think creatively. Currently the office is a mess with
wedding stuff galore and other things that need to be pulled together and taken
care of however within the messy office are two really cool file cabinets that
I had from different things one was black and one brown.
I spray painted them both gray then threw some think board
on top of them and it has been my working desk recently. Well this has been the
current desk for a while but has left the other desk in limbo in the living room
for a while and it time to get it back in the office and the office back
together.
I sent Andrew a text hey pick out a metal spray paint and
color not shine-y and bring it home. We will see what he comes up with and how
it works.
I surprise him with these projects all the time and it is
super fun to see how everything goes and turns out. He is the best sport when
it comes to this stuff. I just have to not get in a rush to get things
accomplished because things take longer than I think they should or want them
too and I have to be ok with that many times. Hoping this will pull the office
somewhat back together and get things back in order. I am hoping also it will
open up the room a little more because we have to get a dresser eventually in
the room also so there will be a lot of furniture moving coming up soon. That
is typical at our house. Get prepared.
Thankful for this transition time and this time to dream and
reach out in areas where I would not normally. It has been a bunch of fun to
see how everything comes together and eventually works out. Soon it will be
clearing out things and purging but we are not quite at that point yet. Still
some time to do that and hopefully get our better possessions ready and where we
want so we can truly see what is excess and we can donate, sell, or trash.
Now is the overwhelming and fun part all at once.
So here is the update:
Andrew picked out a great color. (Navy but it looks black here- lighting issues)
We took two days to spray paint it.
We wreaked the office to get it in the room (it is WAY bigger than we thought) great for a transition piece though and storage for the time being.
We had to find the bed because I had company this weekend.
