Day 12

John 1:1-8 ~ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

Have you ever forgotten where you put something or where you parked your car? All of the thoughts of anxiety come through your mind as you try to figure out. It never fails you are in a rush and running late and don’t have time to look for them. These moments of panic often flood through our minds and make us wonder where and how could we do such a thing. We vow to never do it again only to find ourselves in hours, days or weeks later in the same position that we were before. A great reminder is when we are with Jesus he is the beginning. There is nothing that ever was before him.

No time, no space, no life, was present on this earth prior to him. There is nothing before God. This provides instant peace and hope in a world where we lose peace and hope so easily these days. We have the opportunity to be witnesses to and with the light. What a wonderful role. We cannot lose the light but we can forget to put it on display. How is our light shining to our parents, our neighbors, our friends and making a difference in their life? Are we worried about where we put the keys or parked the car? Or, are we enjoying the light He allows us to carry and carrying it with pride making a difference and impact in our lives and others? The choice of focus is up to us. What is your focus?
